I wish Romney wasn't hamstrung by having to represent McCain or Republicans. I wish I could hear what HE thinks, because it just seems like he's staying on (someone else's) message. He's being a good soldier, but I wish he would break rank a little (to mix my metaphors).
After watching McCain and Palin seemingly stumble in questions about the economy, it's both good and bad to see Romney talk about it. Until them, he actually knows what he talks about and conveys knowledge. Unfortunately, he's not on the ticket. I really hope he runs again in 2012.
I suspect he'll have learned his father's lesson about taking a Cabinet post from a rival, but, it is such a disappointment to see Mitt in the role of reciting talking points when he has so much to offer at a time like this. I just can't believe that the electoral process always or even often gets it right. McCain gets what he deserves for doing the Rovian thing with this VP pick.
