Wapo's Cillizza has
the scoop:
After logging a disappointing fundraising haul in the first quarter, Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) has decided to make a change at the top of his campaign's finance operation.
Carla Eudy, a longtime fundraising consultant for McCain, has been moved out of her role as finance director and will be replaced by Mary Kate Johnson. Eudy will remain with the campaign in a senior advisory role, according to communications director Brian Jones, who called Eudy "incredibly hard working."
"This is a continuation of the campaign restructuring that began earlier this month," Jones said.
That restructuring comes after a first quarter in which McCain raised $12.5 million and ended the period with just over $5 million on hand. Both figures placed him third in the chase for campaign cash, behind former Gov. Mitt Romney (R-Mass.) and former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani.
Hopefully it helps the McCain camp get there fundraising in check. It's good to see under performers replaced, it's what separates us from the Russians.
