Fellow Mitt bloggers passed it on: This Florida poll shows a HUGE lead for Romney, but who knows. Always nice to see hope for a blow out Rush just referred to the poll, although he said he had never heard of Datamar.

Romney 35.6%
McCain 23.2%
Giuliani 14.8%
Huckabee 13.2%

Let's hope they're accurate. Link of pdf: http://www.datamar.net/pdf/floridarepublicanPP28jan08.pdf

UPDATE: Another new poll shows Romney up--apparently they almost alone were the most accurate on the Dems in South Carolina. PPP shows Mitt holding his lead despite McCain's low blow smear:
Mitt Romney 35
John McCain 28
Mike Huckabee 13
Rudy Giuliani 12
Ron Paul 5

Mitt Romney has opened up a seven point in Florida, based largely on support he has picked up in the last week. 40% of respondents said they made up their mind either over the weekend or in the last week. Romney has a 47-28 advantage among folks who said they decided who to vote for in the last week, and a 36-26 lead with people who decided over the weekend.

Romney also has a good amount of support in the bank, regardless of what happens in tomorrow's voting. His lead over McCain is 39-30 among the 25% of folks polled who said they had already voted.
UPDATE: New Survey USA Florida poll!!!!:

Romney 32 (+4 vs. last poll, Jan. 23-24)

McCain 31 (+1)

Giuliani 16 (-2)

Huckabee 13 (-1)

Paul 5 (-1)

RCP has adjusted with this last one, obviously they are not including every poll.

This organization had Huckabee leading in Florida 23.9 to Romney's
19.5, to McCain's 17.9, so I wouldn't place much reliance on this mystery firm; its not even included in RCP's poll page....

Here's another new one (PPP):

http://www.publicpolicypolling.com/pdf/PPP_Florida_Release_012808.pdf

Go MITT!!

Oh, I'm sorry, the aforementioned figures were in early January.

In any case, I just ordered a big Romney sign for my big window is big liberal Brooklyn NY--LOL--GO MITT!

StevenInBrooklynNY,

You do leaders CHANGE in races, don't you. When that poll was taken maybe that is exactly the way it was.

Where were you last year when Giuliani was leading every single poll by considerable margins for over 6 months.

That was then, this is now.

Steve, one more thing.

Datamar IS INCLUDED in the RCP average - look down the list.

It looks like they do not poll every other day like some other outfits.

Steve!!!! Good for your for your window sign - but I hope nobody throws a rock at your window!!! I am always so nervous to put political signs in my yard or on my bumper sticker cuz one time someone followed me home and then broke a bunch of my big potted plants and tore my signs out of my yard and stomped on them!!!! It was nuts (wasn't a Romney sign though.... but a Prop 22 sign in California - DOMA).... Good luck to you!!! And GO MITT ROMNEY!!!!! KICK MCCAIN'S TRASH!!!!

LOL. Well, my windows are on the third floor of an old building with ten and twelve foot ceings, so I'll take the risk. Besides, Park Slope Liberals and Lefties are clueless, but they are not mean ;-)

They won't add the Datamar or PPP polls because they would mess up the averages. The news corporations are portraying it as a close battle and using RCP averages.

Still these polls should be taken with a grain of salt. They seem a bit out there.

By Anonymous Anonymous, at January 28, 2008 3:12 PM, my (attempted) point was that in early January, Brand H was being polled by the organization to be leading everyone else by a decent margin. I doubt that was ever the case, so I would call the poll's accuracy into question.

Mitt's background notwithstanding, tomorrow evening may require the use of a corkscrew...OY!

SurveyUSA site has it like posted here, Romney 32, McCain 32. However, if you look at the RCP details, they have it switched!!!
I wonder if that is the way the average has been calculated, or if it's just a typo in the display?
